East Belfast Mom reveals modern monochromatic home, affordable shopping and online inspiration

Using other people's homes as inspiration is a guilty pleasure for many.

And at Instagram, there is no shortage of accounts for interior design, probably to spend too much time browsing.

With NI, however, it doesn't take long to look for inspiration - a growing number of interior designers are choosing to have social media users try them out behind their doors.

In East Belfast , Laura Rowan, 32-year-old salon owner and brewing artist, is one such interior designer.

Laura lives in a new detached four bedroom building that she first bought in 2018 and has been remodeling since then.

Despite his busy life, proud mother of three children, she creates still finding time to keep immaculate to your home and be willing to pay more than his 4,000 followers on your page @home_of_the_giant to in Instagram pictures .

We met with Laura to discuss the organization, the purchase budget, her opinion on the latest trends and her inspiration from the internet.

How would you describe your interior design style?

"It is everywhere.

"I wouldn't say it's a particular style.

"I love to mix styles like minimalist with a touch of black and traditional elements, modern but timeless!"

Your house looks immaculate. What are your three top cleaning tips?

"1. Let your children help with cleaning (or bribe them with pocket money), ie dusting, vacuuming, storing clothes, emptying and filling the dishwasher.

2. Hide something in each room, such as fancy wicker baskets / dressers, to keep all toys and clutter neat and tidy.

Tell us how to organize a beauty space like a retail booth.

"I am a fan of pretty packaging!

"Something fascinating will take center stage, but I also like to put two or three similar products together in one set, for example a self-tanner, a mitten and a face mist.

"I think from a customer perspective, what would I buy together and how can I make it easier for them to decide what to buy?"

What is your preferred budget for your home?

"I bought a beautiful monochromatic woven rug from Lidl for £ 14.99!

"It's on my terrace, a busy area where children come in and out of the garden. So I don't care if it gets dirty.

What is your favorite room in your house and why?

"Definitely my room as a girl!

"After having kids for 12 years, it's so nice to finally have a pink room for girls!"

Can you give us some tips on how to design a space like a pro?

"I have to admit that I cheat and use other Instagram accounts as inspiration!

"I put all the photos I love in Insta and then create a mood board to see what colors, furniture and styles go together.

Who are your favorite indoor bloggers on Instagram?

"Some of my favorite Instagram accounts are @kjg_home for Scandi Monochrome Vibes @emilymay_interior for traditional neutral chic @homegreyhome for all the luxury."

How did you find out how to manage a personal social media account?

"During the delivery, it was very useful for me to focus on something, as I was so used to being so busy with the room that it was difficult for me to suddenly stop.

"With my personal account, I really got a small project going and it's a great place to connect with other people who have the same interests as you."

How did you create your warm outdoor area?

"I also bought some LED lights from our local garden center and wrapped them around our umbrella, threw pillows and blankets on the couch, and that's it."
