Free Halloween Movies for Philadelphia's Drive-In Movie at Mann Center

PHILADELPHIA - The Philly Drive-In is expanding its presence at Mann Center in West Fairmount Park with an emphasis on classic Halloween movies.

The popular drive-in series will now run until Friday, October 30th.

The upcoming films in the series include various classic Halloween films that premiere every Wednesday and Friday evening in October. It is also synced on three Fridays.

Here is the schedule for the upcoming Halloween movies:

  • "Hotel Transylvania" (PG) - Wednesday September 30th; Friday October 2nd
  • "Get Out" (R) - Friday October 2nd (late screening)
  • "Edwards Scissorhands" (PG-13) - Wednesday, October 7; Friday October 9th
  • "Hocus Pocus" (PG) - Wednesday October 14; Friday October 16
  • "Rocky Horror Picture Show" (R) - Friday October 16 (late screening)
  • "Ghostbusters" (1984, PG) - Wednesday October 21; Friday October 23rd
  • "Beetlejuice" (PG) - Wednesday October 28; Friday October 30th
  • "Halloween II" (1981, R) - Friday, October 30th (late screening)

The same film is shown on Wednesday and Friday evenings each week. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the film starts at 7:00 p.m. At 5:30 pm, guests can listen to a playlist of "Monster Mash" presented by Q102.

Films presented on Friday October 2nd; Friday October 16; and on Friday, October 30th, there will be a second screening at 10pm. The doors open at 9 p.m. and the film starts at 10 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend a double Friday must reserve a ticket for each performance prior to arrival.

Free tickets are now available online for demonstrations at the beginning of October. Tickets will be released one week before the event for screenings from October 14th to 30th.

T-Mobile, one of the drive-in sponsors, will be offering free gummy bears to moviegoers who attend a screening in October. Treats are distributed at the entrance of the vehicle and while supplies last.

In bad weather, the rainy date is the following day.

In the face of COVID-19, Parks & Rec staff and partners have been creative and have found new ways to serve families and provide safe activities for Philadelphians. Extending the Philly Drive-In through October 30th is a safe, fun, and family-friendly way to enjoy a free, open-air movie in our park. ""

To comply with local public health guidelines and maintain good social distancing, only spectators in vehicles are allowed access to the demonstration area, and tickets are required to enter.

To ensure a safe experience for all viewers, The Philly Drive-In will use security measures in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Public Health . More information, including frequently asked questions, can be found on the event website .

  • Cinema-goers must remain in their vehicle for the duration of the screenings. They can only get out of their vehicle to go to the bathroom and buy soft drinks.
  • Masks and social distancing are necessary when moviegoers are out of their vehicles.
  • The socially distant ambassadors will offer easy regular reminders in the park, dining and toilet areas.
  • Local food trucks deliver paid (not free) food and beverages in accordance with public health guidelines .
  • You are welcome to bring your own food and drink.
  • Movie fans are encouraged to use a mobile device to scan the contactless QR code through the vehicle window.
  • Ticket holders receive detailed security measures prior to the inspection and when entering the parking lot.
