The cleaning queen: cleaning tasks that are often forgotten before the heater is turned on

The cleaning queen, also known as Lynsey Crombie, appears regularly on ITV This Morning sharing her clever tips and secrets. Year-round cleaning is extremely important in combating germs and bacteria. However, in winter, keeping your home spotlessly clean can be the key to good health. Cleaning Sensation shared their best cleaning chores that everyone should do before the hot and cold blow.

Clean behind your radiator

The cleaning guru explains that a forgotten job is cleaning behind your radiator. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's clean. Most likely, it's extremely dirty and dusty.

Lynsey explains, "Dust trapped in your heater can create an awful smell the first time you turn on the heater.

"Try vaping with a portable vaporizer behind the cooler. It's ideal for removing dust, cobwebs, and trapped dirt. Don't be surprised how much is behind this.

"If you don't have steam, you can use a radiator brush or pour a bowl of hot soapy water on an old towel underneath the radiator to give the radiator a clean detail."

Lynsey continued, "Most people only brush under the couch once a year! It's not one of the most glamorous jobs out there, but moving the sofa underneath to clean it is important to keep your home clean and dust-free.

"We are now entering the months of the spiders and moths, so it is important that they be removed before they settle on your carpet or damage the surfaces of your materials."

Vacuuming the top of the sofa can also help remove dust particles that have built up.

Clean blinds and curtains

Cleaning blinds is a household chore that many people forget or don't do as it can be time consuming due to all the nooks and crannies.

Dust gloves can be picked up for just £ 2 which can save you a lot of time.

Lynsey continued, "On a fine day, take your curtains, wash them, and hang them up to dry them to remove creases. It is good to keep the color of your curtains or they will start wearing out. Use a touch of ACE on colors in the laundry to bring them back to life.

"Freshen them up with a homemade fabric disinfectant (baking soda, water, and your favorite essential oils between washes) to keep them fresh inexpensively."

Clean lampshades and lights

As with other household items, lampshades and light fixtures can gather dust, and your routine should be cleaned regularly.

The cleaning expert said, "When the darkest nights fall, we will turn the lights on more regularly and for longer periods of time. Cleaning these neglected dust catchers is important as dust can trigger allergies and increase the chances of getting sick!

"Carefully remove them and dust them with a cloth. Gently use a glue roller to remove bubbles and excess dust." Also clean the rim and the bracket! Then use an old makeup brush to ensure a clean bulb and bright light. ""

Don't forget the windows

Cleaning windows, especially in cold weather, is important to remove accumulated salt, grime, and grime.

In fact, this can etch the glass and damage it over time.

More natural light, especially if the nights come earlier, can help make a room more cheerful.

Lynsey said, "Don't forget your windows. Winter is not blessed with much sun. On a non-sunny day, wash it out with hot soapy water and vinegar and clean it streak-free.

"Try packing your diary after you've read it, or of course, to dry it off with a really streak-free clean."
