As energy costs soar, Ms Hinch's fans have shared helpful tips on how to save energy when washing.

Cleaning guru Mrs. Hinch, also known as Sophie Hinchcliffe, has become an internet sensation for sharing her cleaning tips and tricks on Instagram, where she has amassed a whopping 4.3 million followers.

Dedicated fans of Ms Hinch have formed social media groups to share household tips.

Facebook user Graham Sims shared a useful trick for drying clothes to a group of 1.2 million members, Express reported.

It's about throwing a towel in the wash at a given time to reduce drying time and energy expenditure.

"As energy prices soar, a little advice for the dryer," Graham wrote.

For starters, it said, "Give the clothes an extra spin at the end of the cycle."

"Put a clean, dry towel in the dryer, then put the damp clothes in the dryer.

"The towel is designed to absorb moisture from clothing and dry it back with the clothing, reducing drying time and saving electricity."

Graham's post was flooded with comments from Ms. Hinch fans.

Some people said they would try the hack to save money, while others said they have been using it for years.

Amy Williams said: "It really works. I've been doing this since last year because my clothes were always damp so I started spinning them extra.

"That's good advice, try it folks."

Other suggestions from Mrs. Hinch's fans for drying clothes faster were using wool dryer balls and removing items from the dryer early.

Louise Wilson said: "Even if your clothes aren't completely dry, take them out of the dryer and air them or hang them up.

"Save energy, but your clothes are already ready."

Karen Sheppard replied, "I've been using the wool dryer balls for a while now and they've definitely cut the drying time in half.

"I bought them from Home Bargains, but Amazon also sold them."

Marie Armor wrote: "We also take out the larger pieces after 30 minutes, give them a good shake and put them back again, this also speeds up the drying time.

Tonia Morris said: "I love dryer balls, they keep things from clumping together so everything dries evenly."
