SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Here's a quick and easy alternative to washing and drying windows.
As:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup stain-resistant dishwasher lid, e.g. B. Jet Dry or Finish
- 1/4 – cup 70% isopropyl alcohol
- 1/4 - cup ammonia
- 2 – tablespoons of liquid dish soap
- 2 gallons of warm water
Mix the ingredients in a bucket. Apply the solution to the window using a sponge, long brush, or sponge mop. Rinse from top to bottom with the hose. Let it dry naturally.
Notes: This won't give you completely perfect, wipe-free windows, but dirt can be removed with little to no effort.
Warnings and Precautions: Clean one or two windows at a time to prevent the solution from drying on the window before rinsing it.
Linda says: Make sure you do this on a cloudy day or when the sun isn't shining through the windows. The windows dry too quickly and leave more stains.
Why it works: Isopropyl alcohol, ammonia, and dish soap do the cleaning. And the dry spray helps to remove the film of water from the windows, leaving fewer stains. A big money saver!
