The town of Lufkin offers great advice on beryl scrap

If you've been driving through Lufkin trying to keep cool as power outages occur, you may have noticed piles of branches in the grass. These residents are following the advice of the City of Lufkin .

I've heard nothing but praise for the city's work in cleaning up the debris from Tropical Storm Beryl. Some residents even mentioned having to rake their yard after removing branches.

A big thank you to all of the City of Lufkin's waste disposal companies. They worked hard to make the cleanup as smooth as possible.

Help them clean up after the storm.

Jessica Pebsworth, communications director for the city of Lufkin, Texas, shared some tips on how to get your area back to pre-storm conditions. If beryl debris needs to be picked up curbside, there is an online work order that you must complete. CLICK HERE

TROPICAL STORM BERYL WASTE GUIDELINES

  1. Sort garbage correctly: combine garden waste into a single pile. Separate excess waste, e.g. B. Furniture, in another pile. A separate pickup request is required for each as they are handled differently.
  2. Tree Debris Requirements: Cut fallen tree trunks into pieces less than 6 feet long for removal.
  3. Contractor Responsibilities: If you hire a contractor to remove trees, they will be responsible for removing the debris.
  4. Oncor Ticketing System: When Oncor removes a fallen tree and power lines, Oncor will return based on its ticketing system to remove them.

Please understand that due to the amount of debris from Tropical Storm Beryl, our response time may be longer than usual. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to clean up the area.
