Silicone creates an airtight seal between tiles and your bathtub, shower or sink .
However, due to its porous nature, mold can accumulate, which becomes black or even reddish due to limescale deposits.
In a post on the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, Emma Rowley said: "Can someone please suggest a cleaner that will remove black mold from bathroom sealant?"
More than 100 group members commented on the post and shared their best tips and tricks.

The cleaning enthusiast recommended spraying it on the affected area and letting it sit for a few minutes before wiping it off.

HG mold remover can be purchased from various retailers for around £5 per bottle.

The product can also be used to combat grout discoloration. However, be sure to ventilate the area.
Other recommendations included white vinegar and baking soda, but many people said they had "no luck" with these two natural options.
Jessie Lister wrote: "I would recommend using the silicone again. You can buy a bottle for around £10 and a scraper for a few quid.
"It takes a few YouTube visits to know how to do it properly, but I often find that the silicone mold won't come off."
