DALLAS - Subfreezing temperatures caused the Dallas NorthPark mall's fire suppression system to go off while the mall was packed with shoppers.

Dallas Fire-Rescue said they were called to NorthPark Center around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday after the mall's fire suppression system was activated.

However, due to a fire, the system was not activated. Instead, firefighters say the cold weather caused the sprinkler system to fail.

Footage sent to FOX 4 shows water gushing from a sprinkler system near Banana Republic.

Fire officials said they closed the popular Dallas shopping center Wednesday because the building's sprinkler system wasn't working.

Mall officials say the issue has now been resolved.
