The TxDOT Drive Clean Texas campaign gives tips to keep the air clean

The Texas Department of Transportation wants the community to provide some of the clean air solution.

The state agency has launched its Drive Clean Texas campaign. Encourage drivers to make their contribution to maintaining air quality. Corpus Christi is one of six Texas cities where TxDOT encourages drivers to lower vehicle emissions.

Some people have really started trying to clean the air by checking their vehicle emissions, all for free.

The AutoCheck program organized an event at the García Center for Arts and Education. Program officials measured the pollutants in the vehicles and informed drivers about the performance of their cars.

Another free emission reduction event will be held on Tuesday, June 18, at Texas A & M Corpus Christi. The university is co-sponsoring the program with the port of Corpus Christi.
