A professional cleaner shared the rules she follows for a faster, easier, and more thorough cleaning.
The Spot On Cleaning owner shared her "do's and don'ts" in a video on her company's TikTok page .

The list featured five tips, including dry dusting before applying and wiping down the cleaner.
"That way you remove dirt and dust to reduce the risk of [dust] spreading once the water is applied. It also means you're effectively cleaning and disinfecting the area," he said.
Another "to do" on the list is to remember to clean all the awkward nooks and crannies in the house, especially places like the shower.
"Often there's dirt or debris underneath and you probably don't know it's there until you actually clean underneath."
The third tip is one you may not have heard of before, and it could be the reason you have streaks on your bathroom faucet.
"To light up the lamps, always use a dry cloth. Never use a damp cloth as the water will just sit on it and it won't be shiny and streaky looking," he said. Explain.

According to the professional cleaner, we also have to clean from top to bottom. As a result, dust and dirt fall to the lowest surface and can be cleaned in one go.
Bottom-up cleaning just means you're cleaning surfaces at least twice, which none of us want to do if we can avoid it.
The Sydney business owner's latest 'don't' was not to clean with a dirty cloth to avoid 'smudges'.
This means we start our cleaning sessions with a clean cloth and change cloths as soon as the cloth used gets dirty. You can also fold the towels to get multiple clean surfaces with a single towel before throwing it in the washing machine.
These cleaning tips were well received by Spot On Cleaning followers, though one person questioned whether it was "common sense."
"Trust me… no. It's amazing how many people don't know," one person replied.

The video's comments section was littered with questions asking for more tips on specific cleaning tasks like bathtubs, windows and tile cleaning - further proof that cleaning tips aren't just "common sense".
Others wanted to know what kind of gloves and rags the cleaning lady uses. Both products are from Bunnings, with "durable" gloves, while the cloths are microfiber.
He also recommended dish soap for cleaning windows and hot water with vanilla alcohol for scrubbing.
