And the World Health Organization suggests that Covid-19 can remain on surfaces for several days, with leather being the perfect surface to thrive on.

Environmental physician Lisa Ackerley, also known as The Hygiene Doctor, said: "Our hands carry viruses and bacteria and transfer them to other surfaces, such as B. our bags.

"Viruses can be infectious in small quantities and the corona virus can survive on surfaces for up to 72 hours."

Here Abby McHale opens her bag and the medical health care officer explains which items pose the greatest health risks.

A study by the University of Arizona found that a typical workbench contains hundreds of times more bacteria per square inch than an office toilet.

The most affected object you have.

Researchers at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine say the chair can be found on every sixth smartphone.

Now we have to wash our hands every time we use our phones.

Use anti-throw cloths to disinfect your phone.

When touched with clean hands, it is unlikely that there are many germs.

The risk is that you pick it up with dirty hands or put it on dirty surfaces and then put it in your mouth.

Clean with an antibacterial cloth and wash daily with warm soapy water.

Keys are only used a few times a day and not in public spaces. Therefore, take in fewer germs.

One way is to have a plastic bag in your pocket to put the tissues in so you can safely throw them away.

Then wash your hands.

If you wash your brushes regularly with soapy water, the inside of the cosmetic bag should remain sterile.

Wallets are common on the go. They affect counters, work surfaces and offices.

Money and bank cards also come into contact with card machines and other people's hands.

Clean wallets regularly and have clean hands when you touch them.

I have the train tickets and credit cards in a clean wallet in my pocket so I don't have to take my bag out.

Headphones can transmit bacteria, but we don't usually touch them with our hands too often and don't touch them all day long.

The main thing is to remove them with clean hands.

If you have a case for them, use it.

The judgment

Abby says, "I'm really not surprised that things like phones are a high risk because I take mine to most places, including the bathroom."

"But that definitely made me think more about cleaning the contents of my purse regularly and sliding my contactless card over the reader rather than writing it to prevent it from containing bacteria.
