Here we show you how you can protect your skin from detergents.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) - Since the coronavirus pandemic, everyone has had Clorox wipes, Lysol, a hand sanitizer, and more on their hands. This can leave your hands dry or even tear. ABC13's Chelsey Herndandez spoke to clear dermatologist Dr. Monee 'Thomas on how she can protect her skin.

"One thing you want to be sure of is hydration after washing your hands. You want to dry yourself off and not forget your fingertips. These are the areas that are prone to cracking. Another tip I want to tell patients are looking for for something you do not be in a tube because you do not want to put germs in a tube. If you have a favorite product at home, look for a travel - size bottle to fill and make accessible. "Dr . Monee "Thomas, dermatologist.

Dr. Thomas also recommends wearing nitrile gloves when using harmful products to scrub your surfaces.

And since it's the first day of spring, many of you can use the time you spend at home to get your spring cleaning off to a good start. However, some of these cleaning products may be difficult to find. Here are some things you can use anywhere in the house.

How to get a clean shower: Fill a bowl with half vinegar and half soap at dawn. Rub the walls before showering to prevent the formation of soapy water.

Use a pillowcase to clean the fan blades. Pull slowly and the powder stays in the box instead of falling on the floor or bed.

You can clean your burners in the kitchen without rubbing them. Just put them in a zip lock bag and put them in a quarter cup of ammonia overnight and pat them dry.

Finally, you should spend less time cleaning your taps, sinks, and tiles by polishing them with turtle wax. This acts as a protective barrier and prevents the accumulation of soap and water.
